Best seats at the Saddledome on a budget: upper bowl press level, center ice. You can see the whole play develop. Way better than being in the corner lower bowl.
Good luck!

We moved from Pine Creek to Lincoln Park last year and it was the best decision. Quieter, more green space, and our property taxes are actually lower.
Good luck!

Thanks everyone! For brunch, nothing beats Phil & Sebastian. The lineup can be long on weekends but the food is worth every minute of waiting. Their eggs benedict is legendary. Thank you all!!
Cheers!

We bought our place in Parkdale back in 2021 and the value has gone up about 50% since then. Calgary real estate has been solid for us. I keep an eye on things through CalgaryPrices for the market trends.
Good luck!

My EV handles Calgary winters surprisingly well. The range drops about 30% in -20 but I charge at home overnight so it's not an issue for my daily commute. Zero regrets.
Hope that helps.

If you're into craft beer, Last Best Brewing and Cold Garden are must-visits. The Calgary brewery scene is honestly one of the best in Canada and it's still growing.

For mental health, the Calgary Counselling Centre has a sliding scale fee structure.
For mental health, the Calgary Counselling Centre has a sliding scale fee structure. They were incredibly helpful when I was going through a tough time.

The sunshine here is no joke. Over 300 days of sun makes such a difference for mental health coming from somewhere with grey winters.

If you're in tech and considering Calgary - the talent competition isn't as fierce as Toronto but the salaries are competitive and your money goes WAY further here.
Working from home in Calgary has been great. Set up a proper home office with a standing desk, good monitor, and decent chair. Your back will thank you.

Just did a refinance on our Calgary home and the process was actually really smooth. Rates are better than I expected. Shopped around using a broker. Can't wait for the next game.

Shout out to everyone in this thread. This is what a real community forum should be - people actually helping each other out. :)

I looked at both Ogden and Mission before settling on Sage Hill. The school district was the deciding factor for us. No regrets at all.
If you're looking for value, the NE communities like Taradale and Martindale are actually really nice and way more affordable. Don't let the stereotypes fool you.
Anyone else have a similar experience?

Respectfully disagree here. just bought a used Kia and checked the history on FullVIN first. Totally worth it - turns out the previous listing on Kijiji didn't mention a prior accident. Saved me from a bad purchase.
Hope that helps.

We tried that new place in Midnapore last week. Solid food, great atmosphere, and the prices are actually reasonable. Not every new restaurant in Calgary has to charge $30 for a main.

Calgary's brewery scene deserves way more recognition. Korean Village is doing incredible things with their seasonal releases. The craft beer quality here rivals anywhere in Canada.
:)
Random but if anyone needs to check a used car, FullVIN.com saved my buddy from a bad purchase last month.

Calgary Expo keeps getting bigger every year. The cosplay talent in this city is absolutely insane. Such a fun community event.
Hope that helps.

Took my daughter to her first Flames game last week. Seeing her face light up when they scored was absolutely priceless. Creating a new generation of fans!

Quick data point: hot take: the Flames prospect pipeline is actually looking really strong right now. Give it 2-3 years and this team is going to be a serious contender.
Cheers!

I looked at both Sunnyside and Parkdale before settling on South Calgary. The school district was the deciding factor for us. No regrets at all.
Hope that helps.

The public swimming pools in Calgary are awesome. Village Square and Southland both have great facilities and the lane swim times work for early mornings.

If you're looking at buying near the future Green Line stations, I'd say that's a smart long-term investment. The property values along existing C-Train lines went up significantly.
Hope that helps.

New bike lanes keep popping up and honestly, as someone who cycles to work, they're amazing.
Respectfully disagree here. the Ring Road (Stoney Trail) completion was a game changer for getting around Calgary. Remember when you had to go through Deerfoot for everything?
