If you're looking for things to do when it's freezing outside, the escape rooms in Calgary are a solid option. Did one in Copperfield last week and had a blast.

Anyone else think the Stampede midway is way overpriced now? Still fun but I remember when it was a lot more affordable. Good memories though.

Also worth mentioning: thanks for bringing this up. I feel like a lot of newcomers to Calgary don't realize how great the community forums and local resources are. Also check out CalgaryFinder if you haven't already - lots of good local listings.

The Calgary Zoo in winter is actually beautiful. Less crowded, the animals are more active in the cold, and the Zoolights are magical.

Pro tip: a lot of the best restaurants in Calgary offer cheaper menus during Stampede week.

We tried that new place in Saddle Ridge last week. Solid food, great atmosphere, and the prices are actually reasonable. Not every new restaurant in Calgary has to charge $30 for a main.

Hope that helps.
