Great to see another Calgarian joining! If you need help finding local services, CalgaryFinder is also a great resource for local listings and classifieds.
Hope that helps.

Honestly, university District is becoming a really cool neighborhood. The new shops and restaurants there give it a trendy village feel. Worth checking out.
Cheers!

New arena talk keeps going back and forth. I love the Dome for nostalgia but we genuinely need a modern facility. Hoping it actually happens this time.

I looked at both McKenzie Towne and Evergreen before settling on Bowness. The school district was the deciding factor for us. No regrets at all.
Hope that helps.

Just want to add - if you're new to Calgary, download the Calgary Transit app and explore the C-Train system.
The sunshine here is no joke. Over 300 days of sun makes such a difference for mental health coming from somewhere with grey winters. haha
Good luck!

The Flames power play drives me insane but I keep watching every single game. That's loyalty right? :D This team tests my patience but I love them.

Alberta Health Services wait times can be long but the quality of care in Calgary hospitals is actually really good.
Yoga studios in Calgary range from beginner-friendly to advanced. If you're just starting out, try Cold Garden in South Calgary. Really welcoming instructors who don't judge.

I love how active this community is.
This is super helpful, thanks for sharing. I've been wondering about this exact thing. Anyone else have a similar experience?

From my experience, tELUS fibre is the best internet I've had in Calgary. The speeds are consistent and I rarely have outages. Worth the switch from Shaw/Rogers if it's available in your area.

Just got Starlink set up at our acreage outside Calgary. It's been amazing for reliable internet where cable and fibre don't reach. Solid speeds and decent latency.
Random but if anyone needs to check a used car, FullVIN.com saved my buddy from a bad purchase last month.

Calgary's biggest asset honestly is the people. I've never lived somewhere where neighbors actually say hello and help each other out like they do here.
Hope that helps.

Finding a family doctor in Calgary is tough right now but don't give up. Ask your pharmacist - they often know which clinics are accepting new patients.
Good luck!

For anyone dealing with seasonal depression in Calgary - the winter can be tough despite the sunshine. Light therapy lamps are a game changer. Got mine on Amazon and it's helped enormously.
Hope that helps.

We used CalgaryPrices to track the market before buying. Really helpful for getting a sense of where things are trending in different neighborhoods.

Pro tip for winter driving in Calgary: slow down on the overpasses.
AWD is nice for Calgary winters but honestly good winter tires on a front-wheel drive car will outperform all-seasons on an AWD every single time. Don't skip the tires thinking AWD will save you.

Watching the game at Trolley 5 tonight. Nothing beats Flames game night in Calgary. The whole city comes alive.
Anyone else have a similar experience?
