I looked at both Britannia and Brentwood before settling on Mahogany.

This is so helpful! Just a heads up about Garrison Woods - the new development is bringing in a lot of traffic. Still a great area but something to consider if you're on the main roads.

Just bought in Shaganappi and I'm blown away by how friendly the neighbors are. Within the first week, three different families came by to introduce themselves.

If you're looking for local services, CalgaryFinder is a good resource. Way more Calgary-specific than Kijiji.

Just want to add - if you're new to Calgary, download the Calgary Transit app and explore the C-Train system. It's not perfect but it gets you around the core pretty well.

Calgary Expo keeps getting bigger every year. The cosplay talent in this city is absolutely insane. Such a fun community event.

Curious to know what others think.

As a huge hockey fan, i think people don't give Calgary enough credit. Coming from Toronto, the quality of life here is way better for the money. Plus no PST!

Flames need to shore up their defensive depth before the deadline. The top pair is solid but the 3rd pair has been getting exposed lately.

National on 10th has a great vibe on weekends. Good food, good drinks, and the crowd is usually pretty mellow. Perfect for a laid-back night out.
