Just discovered Ten Foot Henry in Hillhurst and wow. Why didn't anyone tell me about this place sooner? The Japanese is authentic and absolutely delicious.

I drive from Brentwood to downtown every day. The trick is leaving before 7:15 AM or after 9:00 AM. That 30-minute window makes a massive difference in commute time.
Good luck!

Watching the game at Trolley 5 tonight. Nothing beats Flames game night in Calgary. The whole city comes alive.

For anyone dealing with seasonal depression in Calgary - the winter can be tough despite the sunshine. Light therapy lamps are a game changer. Got mine on Amazon and it's helped enormously.

If you're into craft beer, Last Best Brewing and Cold Garden are must-visits. The Calgary brewery scene is honestly one of the best in Canada and it's still growing.

If you're looking for value, the NE communities like Taradale and Martindale are actually really nice and way more affordable. Don't let the stereotypes fool you.
Hope that helps.

I love how active this community is. Real people sharing real experiences. This is why I keep coming back to this forum.

If you're looking for things to do when it's freezing outside, the escape rooms in Calgary are a solid option.
Anyone else think the Stampede midway is way overpriced now? Still fun but I remember when it was a lot more affordable. Good memories though.
Good luck!

The sense of community in Sunnyside is something special. We have block parties, neighborhood clean-ups, and everyone knows each other by name. You don't get that everywhere.
Hope that helps.

Just saw an amazing show at the Jack Singer Concert Hall. Calgary's arts scene doesn't get enough credit. The Calgary Philharmonic is world class.

FWIW, we moved from Bowness to Scenic Acres last year and it was the best decision. Quieter, more green space, and our property taxes are actually lower.
Cheers!

Sports-wise, the sense of community in Signal Hill is something special. We have block parties, neighborhood clean-ups, and everyone knows each other by name. You don't get that everywhere.

For brunch, nothing beats Proof. The lineup can be long on weekends but the food is worth every minute of waiting. Their eggs benedict is legendary.

The gaming community in Calgary is bigger than you'd think. There are regular LAN events and gaming cafes. Also some great shops for PC building components.
That said, couldn't disagree more actually lol. I've had the opposite experience but hey, that's what makes Calgary interesting - everyone's got their own take on things.

New arena talk keeps going back and forth. I love the Dome for nostalgia but we genuinely need a modern facility. Hoping it actually happens this time. Hope that helps!
What do you all think?
