Best suburbs in Calgary for commuters

FWIW, we moved from Shaganappi to Scarboro last year and it was the best decision. Quieter, more green space, and our property taxes are actually lower.

My recommendation: spend a weekend in South Calgary before buying. Walk around, check out the local shops, talk to people. You'll get a feel for whether it's your vibe pretty quickly.

If you're driving Deerfoot during rush hour, my pro tip: take Barlow or Macleod as alternatives. Slightly longer distance but way less stress. Deerfoot at 5pm is basically a parking lot.
