Working from home in Calgary has been great. Set up a proper home office with a standing desk, good monitor, and decent chair. Your back will thank you.

The sense of community in Sunalta is something special. We have block parties, neighborhood clean-ups, and everyone knows each other by name. You don't get that everywhere.

Finding a family doctor in Calgary is tough right now but don't give up. Ask your pharmacist - they often know which clinics are accepting new patients.

I looked at both Sunnyside and Cornerstone before settling on Cliff Bungalow. The school district was the deciding factor for us. No regrets at all.

If you're driving Deerfoot during rush hour, my pro tip: take Barlow or Macleod as alternatives. Slightly longer distance but way less stress. Deerfoot at 5pm is basically a parking lot.
Hope that helps. |
Been thinking about this a lot lately. Calgary really does punch above its weight for a city its size. Great food, great outdoors, friendly people, reasonable cost of living.
Hope that helps. |
If you're buying from a dealership in Calgary, get everything in writing. The verbal promises mean nothing. And always check the vehicle history independently - don't just trust their word.

I've been running the Bow River pathway for years and it never gets old. The stretch from Edworthy to Prince's Island is perfect for a 10K. Beautiful any season.

The Flames power play drives me insane but I keep watching every single game. That's loyalty right? :D This team tests my patience but I love them.

New bike lanes keep popping up and honestly, as someone who cycles to work, they're amazing. Calgary is becoming much more bike-friendly.

The road trip to Edmonton for the Battle of Alberta is an annual tradition for our group. The drive up, the game, the trash talk - it's the best.

Speaking from experience, we used CalgaryPrices to track the market before buying. Really helpful for getting a sense of where things are trending in different neighborhoods.
Good luck! |
We moved from Rocky Ridge to Coral Springs last year and it was the best decision. Quieter, more green space, and our property taxes are actually lower.
Good luck! |
One thing I've learned: the market right now is competitive but not insane like Toronto or Vancouver. You can still get a nice detached home under $600K in a good neighborhood if you're willing to look at Altadore or St Andrews Heights.
Hope that helps. |
