IHT Rendezvous: Women Facing Harsh New Pressures in North Korea
 

Disproportionate numbers of women are losing their jobs at state companies in North Korea, a new report says. As they gravitate to work in quasi-legal markets, women are running afoul of the police and the state's harsh penal system, a trend that could worsen if Kim Jong-un's regime reinstates more rigid control of the economy.
