IHT Rendezvous: Activist Says Chinese Officials 'Terribly Afraid' of Rural Unrest
 

The blind legal activist Chen Guangcheng says in a new interview that government and Communist Party officials are fully aware of -- and frightened by -- increasing tensions in the Chinese countryside. "They are terribly afraid," he said, "of people organizing."
