Right to repair: Who owns your car's software?
 

GM and John Deere have argued before the U.S. Copyright Office that when you buy one of their vehicles, they retain that vehicle's software copyright. Kyle Wiens, the founder of iFixit, says this limits our right to repair and customize our cars.
