Let's Celebrate The Left-Handed Leaders Who Have Made A Mark On America
Thursday is International Left Handers Day, where we celebrate those among us whose dominant hand is their left.
Although only one out of 10 Americans identifies as a lefty, roughly two out of 10 presidents are left-handed -- a number that includes former President James Garfield, who is thought to have been ambidextrous. In addition, two of the nine current Supreme Court justices are left-handed. Happy #lefthandersday to all the lefty Marco supporters out there. Created in 1996, International Left Handers Day brings awareness to the difficulties of being a lefty in a mostly all-right world, according to the International Business Times. While studies suggest that left-handed people make 10 to 12 percent less annually than righties, lefties have certainly made their mark on American politics.
