'It Gets Better' Launches Inspiring New Project To Celebrate 5th Birthday

Five years after its launch, the It Gets Better Project is looking toward the future and continuing its work countering anti-LGBT bullying and suicide rates among queer youth.

The organization announced today the "5 Years Better" campaign in honor of the five-year anniversary of founder Dan Savage posting the first-ever It Gets Better video. For the "5 Years Better" project, It Gets Better is collaborating with Agency Team One and encouraging individuals to make and submit their own films to commemorate monumental moments throughout their lives that made an impact on their identity, as well as committing to make the next five years even better.

“Over the last five years, we've had the honor to communicate with today's LGBT youth and let them know there is a global community for them,” Brett Peters, Communications Director of the It Gets Better Project, said in a press release. “We’re beyond appreciative of Team One's efforts to help us reach even more young people worldwide and excited for this next chapter in our partnership.”
