LOOK: Baby's Umbilical Cord Says 'Love'
 

This newborn made quite a statement upon entering the world.

A baby boy was photographed in Australia with his still-attached umbilical cord arranged to spell out "love."

The cord remains joined to the placenta in the striking picture.

 

Photographer Emma Jean Nolan, who's also a midwife, explained that as part of a Maori rite, the placenta and umbilical cord will be buried.

"To set up the shot I laid the baby down and settled him to sleep," she told The Huffington Post. "Then I arranged the cord by twisting and turning it. It was easy except for the 'e' which proved tricky!"
