Tuesday Pop Culture Recap

Fascinating facts I learned today include:
  • Television Without Pity is coming back.
  • Lisa Rinna is coming out with her own Lip(gloss) kit. Her blog post, “I’ve Owned My Part” was the best part of the finale.
  • Lindsay Lohan was at Duran Duran concert with her parents. She is on the cusp of happiness it seems and I don’t know who people are going to rag on text.
  • Lea Michele got a tattoo of Finn’s Football Jersey from Glee. She also got a tattoo of a coffee mug, resembling the central perk logo, on her finger. Reminds us she has a sick body which inspires me everyday.
  • We had a live music performance on AOL BUILD!
  • I downloaded the Kanvas app which is like Snapchat, Periscope, Instagram, Vine into 1. You can add gifs like Kanye West and Ryan Gosling over your photos. And Windows Word Art.
  • Kathie Lee Gifford has a wine line called “GIFFT.” Get it, FF.
  • Nike is creating television? Nike is engaging with consumers via “a new (shoppable) web series called Margot and Lily”
  • The Tribeca Film Festival has a Branded Content Award this year for projects exactly like this.
  • Mischa Barton looks OK!
  • Official Hamilton merchandise (previously exclusively sold at the Richard Rogers Theater) is now available at Bloomingdales on 59th Street.
    • Is this the biggest franchise? Did they sell Wicked stuff at Macy’s? Please comment about Broadway franchises!!
The following is an excerpt from “I’ve Owned My Part” *by Lisa Rinna: On a more serious note, I want to express my empathy and sadness about the demise of Yolanda and David’s marriage. It’s heartbreaking, and it’s sad, but I know that Yolanda is a very strong woman and will come out on the other side better than ever thanks to all of the love and support she has surrounding her. As I have said before, Yolanda’s behavior has been confusing to me and, more than once, I had the feeling that something might be going on that we didn’t know about. I sensed that Yolanda wasn’t fully connecting her head to her heart, at least when we were around her. As unfortunate as the entire situation is, it makes more sense to me now, and I wish only peace and happiness for both Yolanda and David.

So it looks like TWoP might not be dormant for much longer. Statement from Tribune Media (cc @nprmonkeysee) pic.twitter.com/VhfmS3Wlsi

I cannot believe how many people are still apparently SO SALTY about TWoP's message-board moderation. Prob okay to put that behind you now.

Notably, the Section 8 trademark deadline (basically, renewal) for the Television Without Pity mark is approaching. That may explain.

Television Without Pity is coming back and I am provisionally excited provided that they don't bring back one recapper who I genuinely HATE.
