T3200 - Having difficulty connnecting to the 5ghz band on every device
 

I've only had the router for about a month but from the start, the 5ghz SSID has been hard to use. It either appears much later than the 2.4 band after a router reboot, or it doesn't show up at all. Importantly, ALL devices are in the same room as the router so distance can't be an issue. I had given the 5 band it's own name, but did a factory reset thinking that would help - but it didn't.

For example, I have a brand new Roku and a 2015 TV - both with 802.11 as far as I know - and the signal just doesn't appear.

Any suggestions? Is 5ghz inherently more flaky? I'd understand if I were in a different part of the house but literally all devices are within 10 ft of each other.
