Where to connect telus optik cable box
 

Hi,

I have my internet with teksavvy and cable with Telus. It was all hooked up as follows.

Teksavvy modem is downstairs, upstairs off our ethernet port it goes to a dlink switch, from that swifch we have an ethernet cable to each the modem, and another for our cable box.

Right now our internet is very laggy, and wont play youtube or instagram videos often. Also the netflix channel on telus is slow and barely works.

I am wondering if that setup is done wrong?

Should the wall ethernet goto the router internet port, and the optik tv box ethernet go into one of the free ports on the router? Rather than how it was done mentioned above?
