Italy's 2026 Olympic bid moves forward with no funding from federal government
 

IOC president Thomas Bach gave his blessing for the joint Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo bid for the 2026 Winter Olympics to move forward without funding from the Italian government. The candidacy is being supported financially by the regional governments of Lombardy and Veneto.
