Is it possible to put the telus router (T3200M) behind my own firewall device and still have TV work
 

I'd like to ideally get rid of the Telus router (T3200M) and use only my own OPNsense device, but the Optik TV complicates things. I was thus wondering if it was possible to stick the T3200M behind my OPNsense box and still have the TV work? Is there some special magic that would prevent the Optik TV from working if the Telus router wasn't directly connected to the Optical Network Terminal?
