'Freeland Doctrine' could set the world on a path to a new trade cold war
 

A plan outlined by Canada's Chrystia Freeland would have us redirect trade to friendly democracies. That could be good for Canadian workers and a wise defensive strategy in a dangerous world, but breaking up the globe into competing trade blocs may not work as well as in the Cold War days.
