Researchers turn to artificial intelligence to model how snow cover is shrinking
 

In the foothills of the Italian Alps, researchers are using artificial neural networks to model what the changing climate has done to snow cover in mountains around the world. Their study found that in the past four decades the snow melts earlier and covers less ground.
