Anyone else think the Stampede midway is way overpriced now? Still fun but I remember when it was a lot more affordable.
Just saw an amazing show at the Jack Singer Concert Hall. Calgary's arts scene doesn't get enough credit. The Calgary Philharmonic is world class.

Good luck!

Pro tip for winter driving in Calgary: slow down on the overpasses. They ice up way before the regular road surface. I see accidents on the Deerfoot overpasses every single winter.

Good luck!

Speaking of finding deals, CalgaryFinder has a decent classifieds section. I've bought and sold through there a few times.

Dandy Brewing for date night is perfect. Great ambiance, amazing menu, and the cocktails are on point. Can't recommend it enough. Book ahead though, it fills up fast. no cap

Good luck!

The live music scene in Calgary is alive and well.
I love that Calgary's nightlife isn't just 17th Ave anymore. Inglewood, Kensington, and even the East Village all have great options now.

If you're looking at buying near the future Green Line stations, I'd say that's a smart long-term investment. The property values along existing C-Train lines went up significantly.

Hot take: Calgary's food scene is actually better than Vancouver's now. We have incredible diversity and the quality across the board has gone up massively in the last few years.

Good luck!

We're in Evanston and honestly the only downside is the commute to downtown. But if you work from home or work in the south, it's absolutely perfect.

My two cents - the biggest adjustment when moving to Calgary is the dryness. Invest in a good humidifier and moisturizer. Your skin will thank you.

Hope that helps.

So basically, if you're looking for a gym that's not packed 24/7, try some of the smaller independent places outside of the core. The prices are often better and the equipment is just as good. fr

Take this with a grain of salt but just moved to Willow Park and can confirm this. The neighborhood is fantastic, especially the access to Sandy Beach. Highly recommend for anyone considering it.
