Having lived here for a while, the restaurant scene in University District keeps getting better. A new spot just opened up and the reviews are already fantastic. Calgary's food game is strong.

If you're looking for a gym that's not packed 24/7, try some of the smaller independent places outside of the core. The prices are often better and the equipment is just as good.

If walkability is your priority, you really can't beat the inner city neighborhoods like Kensington, Beltline, or Mission. Everything you need is within walking distance.
