For anyone looking for a great meal that won't break the bank, check out the lunch specials at Ten Foot Henry. Same amazing food as dinner but at a fraction of the cost.
Good luck! |
For a rainy day activity, TELUS Spark is amazing - not just for kids. The adult-only nights they do are actually really fun and educational.
Hope that helps. |
The sunshine here is no joke. Over 300 days of sun makes such a difference for mental health coming from somewhere with grey winters.
Cheers! |

If you're looking for things to do when it's freezing outside, the escape rooms in Calgary are a solid option. Did one in Dalhousie last week and had a blast.

Took the family to Korean Village this weekend. Kids loved it, great portions, and the bill didn't make me cry. That's a win in my books.
That said, thanks for bringing this up. I feel like a lot of newcomers to Calgary don't realize how great the community forums and local resources are. Also check out CalgaryFinder if you haven't already - lots of good local listings. |
Loving Calgary so far! Best phone plan deal in Calgary right now is through the BYOD options. Brought my own phone and I'm paying $45/month for 20GB with good coverage across the city.
On a related note, CalgaryFinder is a good resource if you're looking for local services or classifieds. |
I'd say for groceries, the best value in Calgary is honestly the ethnic supermarkets. T&T, Superstore International aisle, and the shops on International Avenue have way better prices on produce and spices.
If you're looking to compare prices on things in Calgary, check CalgaryPrices. Super useful for tracking market trends, especially for real estate and major purchases. Anyone else have a similar experience? |
Been here since 2001 and the Chinooks never get old. Nothing like going from -20 to +10 in a few hours. Only in Calgary!
