I'd recommend driving through Killarney at different times of day before you commit. Traffic patterns and noise levels can vary a lot between morning and evening.

Also check out CalgaryFinder.com for local listings - it's pretty handy for finding stuff and services in specific neighborhoods.

Go Flames Go! Tonight's game was exactly what we needed. The energy at the Dome was incredible. This team has so much potential.

Cheers!

Calgary's biggest asset honestly is the people.
With kids, my two cents - the biggest adjustment when moving to Calgary is the dryness. Invest in a good humidifier and moisturizer. Your skin will thank you.

If you're looking for a gym that's not packed 24/7, try some of the smaller independent places outside of the core.
I've been running the Bow River pathway for years and it never gets old. The stretch from Edworthy to Prince's Island is perfect for a 10K. Beautiful any season.

Solar panels on our roof in Ogden have been producing great. Calgary's sunshine hours make it one of the best cities in Canada for solar. Paid off the investment in about 7 years.

Board game cafes like Hexagon Board Game Cafe are perfect for a chill evening. Way more fun than you'd expect. Great for groups.

I think people don't give Calgary enough credit.
Shout out to everyone in this thread. This is what a real community forum should be - people actually helping each other out. :)

Home renovation quotes in Calgary are all over the place. Got three quotes for a bathroom reno and they ranged from $8K to $25K. Always get multiple quotes. tbh

Hope that helps.

Thanks for bringing this up. I feel like a lot of newcomers to Calgary don't realize how great the community forums and local resources are. Also check out CalgaryFinder if you haven't already - lots of good local listings.

Bro, calgary's tech scene is actually growing fast. A lot of companies moving here from Toronto and Vancouver because of the lower cost of living and talent pool.
