Our electricity bill this winter was shocking. If you haven't already, look into the regulated rate vs. fixed rate contracts. Can make a big difference depending on your usage.

Totally agree with this. I've been in Calgary for 12 years now and South Calgary is honestly one of the best kept secrets in the city. The community feel there is something else.
