Iphone mail set up

My wife just got an Iphone4S from rogers. She can receive emails but not send them when Wifi is on. We were told you can only send when the Wifi is off with 3G. Setting were set up for smtp.broadband.rogers.com and it would not send, changed to smtp.rogerswirelessdata.com and it send on 3G only....
