Can someone explain Rogers/Fido coverage maps?

Hi all, I thought I'd post this in the Rogers forum instead because it seems to have more people than Fido. Anyway, can someone explain why their coverage maps are displayed the way they are? I want to say they're spotty, but not to say coverage is bad. If you look at areas where it's close...
