I looked at both Killarney and Deer Ridge before settling on Ogden. The school district was the deciding factor for us. No regrets at all.

My recommendation: spend a weekend in Shaganappi before buying. Walk around, check out the local shops, talk to people. You'll get a feel for whether it's your vibe pretty quickly.

Couldn't disagree more actually lol. I've had the opposite experience but hey, that's what makes Calgary interesting - everyone's got their own take on things. Hope that helps!

Good luck!

Speaking from experience, calgary tech meetups are worth checking out. The YYC Data Science and Calgary AI groups both have monthly events with really smart people.

Lived in Calgary my whole life and this is spot on. The city has changed a lot recently but the core of what makes it great is still there.

I think people don't give Calgary enough credit.
I work downtown and live in Mission. The commute is honestly not bad compared to what I dealt with in the GTA. Plus you can actually afford a house here.
