Best detailing place in Calgary is Village Ice Cream in the NE. They do an incredible job and the prices are reasonable. My car looks showroom fresh every time.

Best seats at the Saddledome on a budget: upper bowl press level, center ice. You can see the whole play develop. Way better than being in the corner lower bowl.

That said, couldn't disagree more actually lol. I've had the opposite experience but hey, that's what makes Calgary interesting - everyone's got their own take on things.

Good luck!

Anyone in Calgary doing home automation? I've got a full smart home setup and the Calgary weather monitoring is really handy for automated blinds and heating.

Stoney Trail has been amazing for my commute from Elbow Park to the south end. What used to take 45 minutes on Deerfoot is now 25 minutes. Worth the toll honestly.

Hope that helps.

Grocery bills have been insane lately.
Having a toddler changes this - been tracking Calgary gas prices and they fluctuate a lot week to week. GasBuddy app helps find the cheapest station near you. Usually saves 5-10 cents per liter.

Hot take: Calgary's food scene is actually better than Vancouver's now.
If you want authentic Vietnamese, head to the NE along International Avenue. Ol Beautiful Brewing is our go-to but there are honestly like 20 great spots within a few blocks.

Thanks everyone! Hard agree on the winter driving thing. I'm originally from the coast and the first winter here was an eye opener. But you adapt and honestly snow tires make all the difference.

We rent in Glacier Ridge and our landlord just raised the rent 15%. Seriously considering buying at this point. The math is starting to make more sense to own.

Hope that helps.

Just bought in Garrison Woods and I'm blown away by how friendly the neighbors are. Within the first week, three different families came by to introduce themselves.

Good luck!

Property taxes in Calgary are definitely going up but honestly they're still way better than what my friends pay in Toronto or Vancouver. And no land transfer tax in Alberta which saved us thousands. Can't wait!

Anyone else have a similar experience?
