updated to newest software on iPhone 4 and cannot find my pictures?

Folks, i just donwloaded and updated to the newest software on my Iphone 4 and when i brought the phone back up my pictures are not there, my contacts and so forth are but no pictures, i have done several back ups using Icloud but how do i go back and restore to an earlier date to get my pictures,...
