What is a good smart phone

I have an old BB pearl that I love. It is falling apart and I do need a data plan (I only have voice plan for now). I was considering to either get Samsumg Galaxy S3 or Iphone5. but when I saw Galaxy in person, it looked soooo huge that I am saying I do not want to carry it around. So,...
