4G status showing on Iphone 6 Plus??

I haven't had an iPhone in a while (since the 4S.) as I moved to android. Recenlty picked up an unlocked IPhone 6 Plus from an Apple Store in the USA. Came back, got a nano and called Telus to set it up. Now I have LTE and seem to only have 2 circles (of 5) on the strength status. In fact...
