DSL Installation

I just got the Internet for Good with Telus. They wouldn’t offer self installation as the copper wiring needs an upgrade. Didn’t fully understand. But just wanted to know what to expect during the installation? And what areas of my house they would need access to? I want it hooked into the jack in the kitchen. So I’m assuming they will need access to the electrical panel in the basement, the jack and nothing more?
