HBO Releases First Trailer For 'Show Me A Hero,' By Creator Of 'The Wire'
HBO on Sunday released the trailer for an upcoming miniseries from the celebrated mind behind "The Wire," arguably the best show ever broadcast on American television.
"Show Me A Hero," a six-part series that will premiere in August, is the latest project of David Simon, creator of both "The Wire" and "Treme." Set in the 1980s, the new series will explore racial tension in Yonkers, New York, through the eyes of a 28-year-old mayor named Nick Wasicsko, played by Oscar Isaac. All six episodes will be directed by Paul Haggis, who won an Oscar for the direction of 2004's "Crash." Watch the trailer above. The series features some serious supporting star power with the likes of Catherine Keener, Jim Belushi, Clarke Peters, Alfred Molina and Winona Ryder. Slate notes that the show will be different from Simon's other projects in that it's based on a true story and on a book of the same name. Parts 1 and 2 of the miniseries debut on HBO on Sunday, August 16 at 8 p.m EDT. -- This feed and its contents are the property of The Huffington Post, and use is subject to our terms.
