One thing I've learned: couldn't disagree more actually lol. I've had the opposite experience but hey, that's what makes Calgary interesting - everyone's got their own take on things.

The market right now is competitive but not insane like Toronto or Vancouver. You can still get a nice detached home under $600K in a good neighborhood if you're willing to look at Cliff Bungalow or Skyview Ranch.

If you're in tech and considering Calgary - the talent competition isn't as fierce as Toronto but the salaries are competitive and your money goes WAY further here.

Just bought in Belmont and I'm blown away by how friendly the neighbors are. Within the first week, three different families came by to introduce themselves.
I'd recommend driving through Shaganappi at different times of day before you commit. Traffic patterns and noise levels can vary a lot between morning and evening. |
