Been thinking about this a lot lately. Calgary really does punch above its weight for a city its size. Great food, great outdoors, friendly people, reasonable cost of living.

Cheers!

Anyone else notice how much better the restaurant scene in Calgary has gotten? Like we're legitimately competing with Vancouver and Montreal now on the food front.

This thread is gold.
The sunshine here is no joke. Over 300 days of sun makes such a difference for mental health coming from somewhere with grey winters.

Cheers!

Respectfully disagree here. hard agree on the winter driving thing. I'm originally from the coast and the first winter here was an eye opener. But you adapt and honestly snow tires make all the difference.

Been here since 2001 and the Chinooks never get old. Nothing like going from -20 to +10 in a few hours. Only in Calgary!

This is super helpful, thanks for sharing. I've been wondering about this exact thing. Anyone else have a similar experience?

My two cents - the biggest adjustment when moving to Calgary is the dryness. Invest in a good humidifier and moisturizer. Your skin will thank you.

Hope that helps.

My family moved to Glacier Ridge last year and we couldn't be happier. The kids' school is great, the parks are beautiful, and the community events are fantastic.
