Would unlocked Verizon Moto G work on Rogers?

Has anyone tried to unlock a Verizon Moto G for use on Rogers? They sell the phone for $59 at Walmart here in the US. Was thinking of using Verizon for a month, then unlock the phone for use on Rogers when I return to Canada.
