The public swimming pools in Calgary are awesome. Village Square and Southland both have great facilities and the lane swim times work for early mornings.

I've been running the Bow River pathway for years and it never gets old. The stretch from Edworthy to Prince's Island is perfect for a 10K. Beautiful any season.

That said, great post! I moved here from PEI about 5 years ago and haven't looked back. The mountains, the sunshine, the people - Calgary really does have it all.

Cheers!

Finding a family doctor in Calgary is tough right now but don't give up.
Yoga studios in Calgary range from beginner-friendly to advanced. If you're just starting out, try Charbar in Bowness. Really welcoming instructors who don't judge.

Hope that helps.

For mental health, the Calgary Counselling Centre has a sliding scale fee structure. They were incredibly helpful when I was going through a tough time.

Hope that helps.

Glenbow Museum is my go-to for a stress-relief walk. Something about being in nature in the middle of the city just resets everything.

If you're looking for a gym that's not packed 24/7, try some of the smaller independent places outside of the core. The prices are often better and the equipment is just as good.

For anyone dealing with seasonal depression in Calgary - the winter can be tough despite the sunshine. Light therapy lamps are a game changer. Got mine on Amazon and it's helped enormously.
