Stampede is just around the corner and I'm already excited. Say what you will about it, but there's nothing quite like Calgary in July. The whole city transforms.

I work downtown and live in Mount Royal. The commute is honestly not bad compared to what I dealt with in the GTA. Plus you can actually afford a house here.

Also worth mentioning: been here since 2001 and the Chinooks never get old. Nothing like going from -20 to +10 in a few hours. Only in Calgary!

Hope that helps.

Best seats at the Saddledome on a budget: upper bowl press level, center ice. You can see the whole play develop. Way better than being in the corner lower bowl.

For what it's worth - the Flames power play drives me insane but I keep watching every single game. That's loyalty right? This team tests my patience but I love them.

Just moved to Rangeview and can confirm this. The neighborhood is fantastic, especially the access to Bow Habitat Station. Highly recommend for anyone considering it.

We moved from Huntington Hills to Shaganappi last year and it was the best decision. Quieter, more green space, and our property taxes are actually lower.

Just got Starlink set up at our acreage outside Calgary. It's been amazing for reliable internet where cable and fibre don't reach. Solid speeds and decent latency.

Sandy Beach is my go-to for a stress-relief walk. Something about being in nature in the middle of the city just resets everything.

Pro tip: a lot of the best restaurants in Calgary offer cheaper menus during Stampede week. Counter-intuitive but the locals know to eat out during that week.

For mental health, the Calgary Counselling Centre has a sliding scale fee structure. They were incredibly helpful when I was going through a tough time.
