As a parent, the sunshine here is no joke. Over 300 days of sun makes such a difference for mental health coming from somewhere with grey winters.

What do you all think?

National on 10th has a great vibe on weekends. Good food, good drinks, and the crowd is usually pretty mellow. Perfect for a laid-back night out.

For mental health, the Calgary Counselling Centre has a sliding scale fee structure. They were incredibly helpful when I was going through a tough time.

My family moved to Arbour Lake last year and we couldn't be happier. The kids' school is great, the parks are beautiful, and the community events are fantastic.

Hope that helps.

Took my daughter to her first Flames game last week. Seeing her face light up when they scored was absolutely priceless. Creating a new generation of fans!

Random but if anyone needs to check a used car, FullVIN.com saved my buddy from a bad purchase last month.

This thread is gold. Saving it for when my friends from back east ask me about Calgary. Pretty much covers everything.

Oh wow, I looked at both Bowness and Cliff Bungalow before settling on Sage Hill. The school district was the deciding factor for us. No regrets at all. So grateful for this community!

Good luck!

Just want to add - if you're new to Calgary, download the Calgary Transit app and explore the C-Train system. It's not perfect but it gets you around the core pretty well.

On the other hand, calgary's biggest asset honestly is the people. I've never lived somewhere where neighbors actually say hello and help each other out like they do here.

Hope that helps.

Based on my research, the Calgary Zoo in winter is actually beautiful. Less crowded, the animals are more active in the cold, and the Zoolights are magical.

Cheers!

I've been a Flames fan since the 04 run and honestly this season has moments that remind me of that magic. Just need consistency. Hope that helps!
