Julio Scherer García, Influential Mexican Journalist and Political Watchdog, Dies at 88

Mr. Scherer, the founder of the investigative magazine Proceso, created a school of critical journalism that unmasked Mexico’s political corruption and helped lay the groundwork for the country’s democratic transition.
