Using a melange of arms captured from their enemies, weapons smuggled across Syria’s borders and an assortment of weapons that they have made themselves in hidden shops, Syria’s rebels have managed to seize territory, drive the conventionally equipped Syrian armed forces back in certain areas of the countryside and put the government to siege.
