Poor man. So much excitement, as can be seen by his pulling his caught ball up so fast that he flings it into the air. So much bewilderment, as can be seen in his face the moment he realizes it’s possible the ball is no longer within his vicinity. Then, embarrassment, as can be seen in his grasping for his hat, just to be able to grasp for something in this cruel world. Followed, finally, by, uh, honestly, not sure what the subsequent flailing is emoting.
There’s a metaphor here, but we can’t quite put our finger on it. Don’t celebrate your balls before you're firmly holding them? That doesn’t seem right, but you get where we're going.
