Bono pulled Jimmy Fallon on stage to surprise the crowd at MSG on Wednesday, but on Thursday Fallon revealed the Irish singer almost didn't find what he was looking for.

 "The Tonight Show" host says that, despite it being U2's idea, Bono almost forgot to pull Fallon out of the crowd, grabbing another fan out of the audience instead. 

Fallon was left holding a sign Bono was supposed to pick out, and got yelled at by fans to take it down. The comedian actually thought he might get kicked out before The Edge eventually reminded Bono about the bit.

In the end, Fallon finally got on stage and killed his surprise performance of "Desire," but getting kicked out of the concert would've been just as cool.
