Default Rescue Video Of A Homeless Senior Dog Reminds Us Why Adopting Older Animals Is A Perfect Choice

A rescue video of a senior dog named Rudolph reminds us of the joys of adopting older animals.

Eldad Hagar, co-founder of the animal rescue group Hope For Paws, told The Huffington Post that he’d received a call from a Good Samaritan telling him about Rudolph’s plight. The pooch, who had a badly injured leg, was living right off Interstate 710 in Los Angeles.

Hagar rushed to the scene to bring the senior dog to safety.

“This rescue could have been quite challenging, but we got lucky there because of all the noise from the freeway to help distract Rudolph,” he said.

In the video, watch as Rudolph is coaxed into friendship by Hagar and his team.

“We could see by the scars of his face, Rudolph had lived a hard life on the streets,” it says in the clip. But the dog eventually found “his warm, gentle smile.”

Senior animals are usually the last to be adopted at shelters, but there are plenty of great reasons to welcome them into your home.

“Though they may not have a lot of years left to live, they still have a lot of love to give,” Hagar wrote in the video.
