Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll assured everyone on Twitter that he was fine on Saturday after colliding with an official during a preseason game the night before.
For all those wondering... I didn't need to see the trainers! Hope Eugene is feeling ok though!! https://t.co/KceHERk9Ps Carroll unfortunately found himself caught in the highlights of the Seahawks' preseason game against the Denver Broncos. While third-round 2015 draft pick Tyler Lockett returned a kick in the second quarter for what became a 103-yard touchdown, Carroll's would-be celebration was cut short before it could really get started. Ref: 1 @PeteCarroll: 0 That footwork from the ref though. #DENvsSEA http://t.co/uSqCtxp0kt Minus the collision, it truly was a terrific return by Lockett, even if Carroll said he "didn’t see the last 20" yards of the play after getting knocked down by the referee. “I’m doing well. As a matter of fact I feel pretty good, under the circumstances. I saw him, too, and I couldn’t get out of the way," Carroll said of the official. The coach was also handed a 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct, but fortunately for the Seahawks, it was enforced after Lockett scored the touchdown. “I was jumping up and down for Tyler’s return, and I’m disappointed that I didn’t get to see him finish," Carroll told The Seattle Times after the game. Unfortunately, the Seahawks went on to lose to the Broncos, 22-20. So all in all, not a great day for Pete. -- This feed and its contents are the property of The Huffington Post, and use is subject to our terms.
