The whole-wide world lost a great friend, Oliver Sacks. The "Poet Laureate of Medicine." If you're judged by leaving the world a better place because you were in it; Oliver is the poster child. The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat, Awakenings and The Mind's Eye may have been chock-full of medical facts, but they were just snapshots of Oliver Sacks' heart -- all poetic studies of human suffering and what gives life meaning. An atheist, he found never-ending delight and spirituality in the art, mystery and extraordinary of science. I'd bet he wasn't planning on visiting the Pearly Gates -- but he sure knew a thing or two about what mortality means. --Yours, Jimmy Dunne Jimmy Dunne's songs have been recorded on 28,000,000 records worldwide; along with scores, songs, and themes in over 1,500 television episodes and dozens of feature films - along with many dozens of gold, platinum and multi-platinum records around the world. www.jimmydunne.com www.inspireentertainment.com Soundcloud -- This feed and its contents are the property of The Huffington Post, and use is subject to our terms.
