Default Ashley Graham Is Officially A 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue Model

Ashley Graham made history in 2015 when she starred in the first-ever plus-size ad to run in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue -- but even that enormous feat feels like child's play now.

The model/designer/body activist will appear in an editorial in next week's 2016 swimsuit issue. She joins Robyn Lawley, who last year became the first plus-size model to ever officially pose for the highly anticipated mag. Graham confirmed the news on Instagram Tuesday by sharing a shot from the spread.

It's official - I'm a @sportsillustrated swimsuit model!! This is a dream come true. Thank you to everyone who stood up for curves- our voices were heard and together we can help me win Rookie of the Year. Stay tuned for voting instructions #beautybeyondsize #islay

"It's official -- I'm a @sportsillustrated swimsuit model!!," she captioned the photo. "This is a dream come true. Thank you to everyone who stood up for curves -- our voices were heard and together we can help me win Rookie of the Year. Stay tuned for voting instructions #beautybeyondsize #islay."

Clad in a purple two-piece swimsuit, Graham is perfectly at home on camera, as she should be. She's regularly featured in bikinis and skivvies thanks to her own lingerie line as well as her recently announced partnership with Swimsuits for All.

With New York Fashion Week starting Thursday, it's is the perfect time for the message that sexy comes in all shapes and sizes. Here's hoping we see some of that sprinkled onto the runways, too.
