Default Kesha Releases Powerful Statement For Victims Of Abuse

Kesha released a second statement following a judge's ruling in her ongoing legal battle with producer Dr. Luke, who she accused of sexual assault and battery.

After thanking fans "a million times over" in an Instagram post Tuesday, Kesha took to Facebook Wednesday to share a longer message, with some special words for victims of abuse.

"I think about young girls today -- I don’t want my future daughter -- or your daughter -- or any person to be afraid that they will be punished if they speak out about being abused, especially if their abuser is in a position of power," she wrote. "Unfortunately I don’t think that my case is giving people who have
been abused confidence that they can speak out, and that’s a problem."

"But I just want to say that if you have been abused, please don’t be afraid to speak out," she continued. "There are places that will make you feel safe. There are people who will help you. I for one, will stand beside you and behind you. I know now how this all feels and will forever fight for you the way perfect strangers have been fighting for me."

Celebrities have offered an outpouring of support to the "Warrior" singer, with Taylor Swift giving $250,000 to help finance any ongoing legal fees.

In 2014, Kesha filed a lawsuit against Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald claiming he sexually, physically, verbally and emotionally abused her for 10 years. She signed with him when she was just 18 years old.

On Monday, Gottwald denied the rape allegations, tweeting, "I didn’t rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her. Kesha and I were friends for many years and she was like my little sister." He cited documentsfrom 2011 that show Kesha testified she never had an "intimate relationship" with Gottwald and that he didn't give her a roofie during a separate lawsuit filed against Kesha and Gottwald by her previous manager.

Kesha's lawyer Mark Geragos said Gottwald threatened Kesha before the 2011 testimony not to disclose the alleged abuse.

"It shows how pathetic this guy is. He's nothing more than his generation's Bill Cosby," Geragos told the New York Daily News. "The only people who come out and support him are his paid henchmen. Everybody knows it's a dirty little secret that this guy is bad news."
