IHT Rendezvous: China Assails U.S. Over Alliance With Japan and Possible F-16 Sales to Taiwan
China has published a series of scathing articles and editorials in its state-run news media, attacking two amendments to a new U.S. military spending bill. One amendment reaffirms a mutual security treaty with Japan and recognizes Tokyo's control of the disputed Senkaku islands. The other provision supports the sale of dozens of new F-16 fighter jets to Taiwan.
